It was a dream-filled day when Everlene Leary, Kathleen Prudence and Bonnie Neumeier, surrounded by community supporters, handed over a check for $209,239.13 to buy the former Peaslee School on December 14th, 1984. Determined to keep Peaslee as an educational and cultural resource in Over-the-Rhine, the women had raised the money, cent by cent, with love and tenacity.

Today, Peaslee Neighborhood Center continues to serve as an access point in the community for education, enrichment and social justice work.
